Let me just start by saying – Josh and Lars are the ultimate example of couple goals. Not only are these happy islanders gorgeous and sweet, they also love adventure, are frequent travellers, and run a successful photography and videography business together. We met up at a quiet slice of Hawaii for their beach engagement photos.
If you’re running out of photo location ideas, having beach engagement photos is always fun!
Josh and Lars met years ago, and their story is pretty epic. Josh’s sister hooked them up on a blind date, and Josh immediately knew Lauren was THE ONE. He was smitten. Totally hooked. One problem though – at that point, Lauren wasn’t really interested in dating.
Josh, ever the romantic, asked her out like clockwork once a week. She kept saying no. He kept asking. After two months, she said yes, and they finally went out on their second date. They had such an awesome time and ended up clicking, and then they were inseparable. When Lauren moved thousands of miles to Hawaii, Josh went with her.
GUESS HOW HE PROPOSED?! ON HORSEBACK.
While on vacation in New Zealand, Josh took her on an epic horseback ride to a cliff overlooking the ocean, and proposed. They’re now happily married and work together, travel together, and are have a beautiful baby together.
The day of our couple photos started out slightly overcast, but the clouds parted just in time for our session. We met at a quiet beach not far from our Airbnb, and chatted for a bit before we started shooting. We took some photos on the beach, and after they did a quick outfit change we got snuggled down in the sand.
Being on a beach, it was inevitable that we’d get them in the water, so they changed into their bathing suits, jumped in, and had a blast. We had such a great time and they were down to have fun, even though the clouds rolled back in and the water got a little cold. It was such a blast to be able to spend time with them for their beach engagement photos.
