Will and Brooke were an absolute blast! They moved from British Columbia to Montreal, Quebec, and love adventuring. We met at a cozy cabin in Mont-Tremblant, Quebec for their winter elopement, on what happened to be one of the coldest days of the year! (Go figure!)
We hung out in the cabin while they got ready. We used snowshoes to get to the huge snow-covered lake just behind the cabin. It was so cold that we didn’t end up spending a ton of time outside. We went out in 15 minute intervals, and luckily the sun peeked through to keep us warm for a few minutes at a time.
We wanted to catch the sunset over the lake, so we went to the ski village in Mont-Tremblant around 3pm. We also picked up a couple of bottles of wine while we were in the village. Very important when you’re stuck inside in the winter! 😛
The lovely Chelsea Dawn Chawsky did Brooke’s hair and makeup, and was a total doll to work with! She did an amazing job! Brooke’s hair was perfect all day, even after taking off her bridal hat from Goorin Bros.
The wild, bohemian bouquet created by Hellebore Creations Florales was wintry in colour, except for the bright yellow ribbon that was used to tie it. Will also brought his guitar from home. He serenaded Brooke in front of the wood stove before we headed outside.
Meaghan from Ruby and Parcel created the coolest invitation suite, and even included little styling extras like ribbon, spools, and antique scissors!
This dress from Alice in Blush is actually a two-piece top and skirt, and I love how it photographs! You can read more about how to pick an elopement dress here.
With wine in hand and the sun setting quickly, we made it back to the cabin. We had about 5 minutes to get a few photos with the Jeep parked in front of the sun-lit, snow-covered lake! Will and Brooke were freezing, but they humoured me while I snapped the last photos!
We went back into the cabin, started a fire in the woodstove, and Brooke washed off all her makeup (which was gorgeous, compliments of the always sweet Chelsea Dawn Chawsky) and changed into cozy clothes. We spent the rest of the evening sitting in front of the fire, drinking wine, and playing Catchphrase. (I remember Brooke and I winning. Will may have a different version of events…LOL).
This winter elopement was definitely challenging because of the cold. It ended up being a total blast though, and was such a great experience!
