Anna and Aidan’s wedding unfolded on his family’s generational property along the water, setting the stage for an elegant private estate wedding in Ottawa that felt deeply personal from start to finish. The location itself carried meaning – a place shaped by family history, care, and continuity – and the celebration was designed to honour that legacy while welcoming loved ones from around the world.
From the moment guests arrived, it was clear this was no ordinary Ottawa tented wedding. The property was transformed into an elevated, intimate gathering that balanced refinement with warmth, creating a setting that felt both glamorous and genuinely lived in.
Every detail of the day was chosen with intention. Anna and Aidan wanted their wedding to reflect not only their relationship, but also the people and place that shaped them. Hosting their celebration on the family property allowed them to honour the cottage and those who had lovingly cared for it over the years, ensuring it could be passed down for generations to come.
That sense of history and connection gave the day a depth you could feel – not just see. Surrounded by water, nature, and family, the celebration unfolded as a true waterfront estate wedding, where elegance never overshadowed meaning.
Planned and designed by Amelia Carleton, the overall vision elevated the property while staying true to its character. A sweeping tent became the heart of the celebration, creating a polished yet inviting space for an unforgettable tented wedding reception in Ottawa.
The design featured rich burgundy florals, layered greenery, and a striking black and white checkered dance floor that anchored the space and set the tone for the evening. Florals by Pollen Nation added texture and romance throughout, softening the structure of the tent and tying the natural surroundings into the elevated design.
As the evening unfolded, the space transformed effortlessly – glowing with candlelight, energy, and the warmth of everyone gathered together. It was the kind of luxury tented wedding in Ontario that feels intentional rather than overproduced.
One of the most powerful moments of the day came through Anna’s tribute to her Trinidadian roots. Traditional tassa drummers brought rhythm and movement into the celebration, filling the evening with joy, energy, and connection. It turned the reception into a true celebration – not just a formal event, but one big, meaningful party with the people who mattered most.
Friends and family travelled from all over the world to be there, and that sense of gathering was felt in every moment. Authentic, crowd-pleasing food catered by Torta Boyz kept the atmosphere relaxed and lively, grounding the glamour with comfort and personality.
Anna and Aidan’s wedding was elegant without being stiff, glamorous without losing heart. A celebration shaped by history, culture, and intention, it was a beautiful example of how a private estate setting and thoughtful design can come together to create something truly unforgettable.
