Kristin and Matt’s wedding was a beautifully minimal wedding in Ottawa. Elegant and joyful, and full of genuine moments that unfolded naturally throughout the day.
From the beginning, the focus was clear. This was a wedding centred on people, not production. Designed by Amelia Carleton, the day leaned into simplicity and restraint, creating space for connection, conversation, and real emotion. Nothing felt overdone. Every detail supported the experience rather than competing with it.
Their ceremony took place at a church in downtown Ottawa, surrounded by close family and friends. It was heartfelt and grounding, with quiet moments of emotion mixed with soft laughter and familiar faces in every pew. The kind of ceremony where you can feel how loved the couple is, not just by how many people are there, but by how present everyone feels.
After the ceremony, guests made their way to the reception at Westin Twenty Two. The space was kept intentionally understated, allowing the energy in the room to set the tone for the evening. Long conversations, easy laughter, and a relaxed pace carried through the night.

Florals by Nectar Flowers added a soft, seasonal layer to the design. Organic and unfussy, they complemented the fall setting without pulling focus, blending seamlessly into the overall look and feel of the day.
What stood out most was the movement and joy woven through every part of the wedding. Big hugs. Candid laughter. Guests leaning in close during conversations. Kristin and Matt moving easily through the room, fully present and soaking it all in. Between moments, downtown Ottawa appeared in the background, grounding the day in place without ever distracting from what mattered most.
Kristin and Matt’s wedding was proof that a minimal, elegant approach can still feel incredibly full. Full of laughter, warmth, and the kind of energy that stays with you long after the night ends.
