A lot of couples don’t want to fall into the trap of cheesy, forced photos to celebrate their engagement. I’m here to tell you that the aforementioned cheese trap is totally avoidable. 😉 Maddy + Connor wanted something chill but elevated, so with a little prep + planning and fingers crossed for nice weather, we met up at a quiet, off-the-beaten path area of Ottawa for their fall engagement photos.

Their wedding was in Cabo Mexico, so it was so nice to be able to have a totally different vibe for their engagement photos!

Their pup Elwood is the absolute cutest! We had a blast running around and watching him enjoy the space in his little bow tie. Maddy also brought champagne so they could celebrate in style on a Sunday morning (because why not?!).

I’ve done tons of different activities with couples for their engagement photos. From rock climbing to hiking to horseback riding to cliff jumping! But you don’t have to do or plan anything extravagant!

Some of my favourite images ever have been super simple, laid back moments. As long as you plan something that you’ll both enjoy, it’s possible to capture those brief moments where you’re being yourselves and allowing your love to shine. There’s really nothing better!
